COVID-19 Guidance

Clay County District Schools will follow the Florida Department of Education's decision tree for students and staff that test positive for COVID-19. We encourage parents and caregivers to reach out to the Florida Department of Health- Clay at 904-529-2900 for COVID-19 questions or your family's primary medical provider.

As a reminder, any person with a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, sudden loss of taste or smell, or vomiting/diarrhea should not go to a school site or office. Students and staff should be 24 hours symptom-free (without the use of fever-reducing medications) prior to returning to school or the worksite or have written permission from a medical professional to return.

Per our Student Code of Conduct, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide a written statement to the school explaining the absence within three (3) school days following the return of the student to school for an excused absence due to illness. It is essential that students absent from school make up work missed. It is the responsibility of the student and the family to initiate requests for, and to pick up, make-up work on the day the student returns to class from an excused absence. All work missed from an excused absence can be made up within 24 hours for 100% credit. For example, if a student misses three days, they have three days to complete missing assignments for full credit. CCDS Code of Student Conduct
